Verified, not asserted

Our own scan results

Most accessibility statements ask to be taken on trust. Ours does not need to be. We tested this site against the Section 508 machine-checkable criteria, fixed what came back, and published both reports: the failing one as well as the clean one.

Both scans were run with SureAccess (opens in a new tab), a Section 508 and WCAG 2.2 testing platform. That makes this a self-assessment rather than independent verification, and we would rather say so than have you find out. It also means a clean scan is not conformance: 90 conditions in the second report could not be decided by machine and were reviewed by hand. The sections below are what that review found.

Our commitment

We place engineers into regulated sectors such as healthcare payers, financial services and insurance, where accessibility is a procurement requirement rather than a nicety. We hold this site to the same standard we would expect of a client's, and we treat any barrier reported here as a defect.

Conformance status

This site aims to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. Based on our own testing, we believe it currently meets that standard.

We describe this as a self-assessment, not a certification. It reflects automated testing plus manual checks, and it has not been audited by an independent third party. We would rather state that plainly than imply more assurance than we have.

How we test

Automated audits
The site is checked with the axe accessibility rules and separately scanned against the Section 508 machine-testable criteria. It currently passes with no reported violations.
Keyboard only
Pages are navigated without a mouse to confirm every control can be reached and operated, and that focus is always visible.
Structure and semantics
We check heading order, landmark regions, form labeling, and that content is exposed correctly to assistive technology rather than conveyed by appearance alone.
Contrast
Text colors are measured against their actual background and held to at least the 4.5:1 ratio WCAG requires for body text.
Responsive and zoom
Layouts are checked from 320px up to large desktop widths so content reflows without horizontal scrolling or overlap.
Reduced motion
The hero pipeline, the ticker and the live requisition feed all stop animating for visitors whose system is set to prefer reduced motion.

Known limitations

We are not aware of outstanding barriers on this site. Three things are worth stating honestly rather than leaving unsaid:

  • Testing has been carried out primarily with automated tooling and keyboard navigation. We have not completed a full screen-reader pass across every assistive technology and browser combination.
  • Some links appear inline within a sentence and are therefore smaller than the 24 by 24 pixel target size. This is permitted under WCAG 2.2 success criterion 2.5.8, which exempts targets positioned within a line of text.
  • The hero uses a subtle grid pattern behind its content. Automated scanners cannot compute a contrast ratio through a patterned or gradient background and will report the text over it as needing manual review rather than as passing. We have measured those elements directly against the underlying background color and they meet or exceed the 4.5 to 1 ratio required for body text.

Report a barrier

If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, please tell us. A description of the page and what went wrong is enough. You do not need to know the technical cause.

Email info@sstechnologies.us. We aim to acknowledge accessibility reports within five business days and will tell you what we intend to do and by when. If you need information from this site in an alternative format, ask and we will provide it.

Accessibility in our client work

For client engagements we work to WCAG 2.2 Level AA and, where a public-sector client requires it, to Section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act. We can provide conformance documentation, including a VPAT, as part of a procurement process. Get in touch and tell us what your process requires.
